Daniel was a prophet of God who was given the “Gift” on interpreting dreams.

It is important to know that during Daniel’s time the Hebrew nation was under captivity for over 70 years and they were trying to get into the good grace of God once again.
Remember that the children of Israel are the children of God and God has never been apart from them; nevertheless, they kept on resisting his will.

During the time of Nebuchadnezzar, Daniel and three other noble youths named Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah were among the Jewish young nobility carried off to Babylon to be trained as Chaldeans who constituted the ranks of the advisors to the Babylonian court.

King James Version has it as:

“And the king spake unto Ashpenaz the master of his eunuchs, that he should bring certain of the children of Israel, and of the king's seed, and of the princes;”

“Children in whom was no blemish, but well favoured, and skilful in all wisdom, and cunning in knowledge, and understanding science, and such as had ability in them to stand in the king's palace, and whom they might teach the learning and the tongue of the Chaldeans.”


The king appointed his people to feed all of his trainees with a portion of his meats and wines.
David did not wanted to defile himself with the meat and wine of the king so he requested of the prince of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself.

The prince told Daniel that he can not bring them to the king in a poor shape; that his “head would roll” if he did not feed them correctly.

Daniel ask the Melzar (he was in place of the prince during his absence) to give them 10 days to prove themselves with “pulse and water” only as sustenance.

At the end of the ten days they looked stronger and better than all of the others who had eaten the meat and drank the wine so the meat and wine were remove from Daniel and his friends.

Once the king summon them, the king found that in all matters of wisdom and understanding, that the king enquired of them, he found them ten times better than all the magicians and astrologers that were in all his realm.

it is amazing what happens to those who obey the will of the Lord. The lord has a job for us to here on earth. Look at daniel, he was a SLAVE and still he helped out his masters, captors and Oppressors.
IT WAS THE WILL OF GOD.
