Is the Book of Daniel, a book written to describe the END OF TIMES?

God wasn't just telling Daniel about the end of the world, God was giving a timeline of all future world kingdoms leading up to the second coming of Jesus and his return to his mighty GLORY.
If you read Daniel, there are no exact dates, but what we are looking for is a set of events that are chronological. Some of these events can sometimes be traced thru history and some events are yet to come.

When is the end of the world?

We do not know, but, if we follow some of the interpretations of the dreams from the king we can see that some of the events that he is describing are happening on our time.
If you pay attention to the second chapter of the book of Daniel, God reveals to Daniel a dream that King Nebuchadnezzar had.
The King had summoned the magicians, enchanters, sorcerers and astrologers so they can interpret a dream that he had had. The king was no fool and when his council asks him to reveal the dream so they can interpret the wise king answers:
NIV version Daniel 2:5
5 The king replied to the astrologers, "This is what I have firmly decided: If you do not tell me what my dream was and interpret it, I will have you cut into pieces and your houses turned into piles of rubble. 6 But if you tell me the dream and explain it, you will receive from me gifts and rewards and great honor. So tell me the dream and interpret it for me."
7 Once more they replied, "Let the king tell his servants the dream, and we will interpret it."
8 Then the king answered, "I am certain that you are trying to gain time, because you realize that this is what I have firmly decided: 9 If you do not tell me the dream, there is just one penalty for you. You have conspired to tell me misleading and wicked things, hoping the situation will change. So then, tell me the dream, and I will know that you can interpret it for me."
Well, his council could not answer so the king sentenced all the magicians, enchanters, sorcerers and astrologers to death.
When they arrived were Daniel was, Daniel ask "Why did the king issue such a harsh decree?"
Once he was informed, he asked to see the king and asked for time to interpret the dream.
That night the Lord almighty revealed the dream so he could tell the king.
Daniel interpret the dream and the king fell to his knees:
Daniel 2:46
46 Then King Nebuchadnezzar fell prostrate before Daniel and paid him honor and ordered that an offering and incense be presented to him. 47 The king said to Daniel, "Surely your God is the God of gods and the Lord of kings and a revealer of mysteries, for you were able to reveal this mystery."
The dream that God revealed to Daniel is in reference to kingdoms to come. Daniel affirms that the King Nebuchadnezzar has been placed in power by God and there will be many kingdoms after his and all of them inferiors to his and that at the end they will fall and crumble.
They will fall and crumble because the last kingdom, the everlasting kingdom will be here.
Daniel 2:44
44 "In the time of those kings, the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that will never be destroyed, nor will it be left to another people. It will crush all those kingdoms and bring them to an end, but it will itself endure forever.
Forever is forever. We are talking end of the world and everlasting peace (eternal life).
If you believe that the bible was written by “divine providence” you have to understand that there will be an end, an end not brought by us but by the second coming of The Christ.
It is our fault that we are in this predicament. As the Hebrew nation turn away from God, we have as well.
Wars, famine, discrimination, poverty, deceases, weapons of mass destructions, moral corruption, the killing of innocent babies, the removal of religion from the public education system, the removal of the Ten Commandments from the courthouse, the fact that they want to remove “in God we thrust” form the pledge of allegiance, the fact that they want to remove the crosses from cemeteries, going to a one world currency, look at oprah winfrey, “the believe that there is more than one way to go to heaven” and “the one world-one religion concept.”
